Saturday, July 20th - Cost $200/person (includes two tastings and a lunch)
Miltenberg Excursion-
We will begin our day with Weingut Steintal, a Franken winery. I would recommend following the link below from Schatzi Wines, their importer. It has a lot to say about this producer, Steintal. The specific reason for this winery visit is the intense focus on farming (organically) and the Spatburgunder wine. Though this cruise will be predominantly focused on white wine, this producer makes some amazing reds as well. Please take the time to read the link: https://schatziwines.com/producer/benedikt-baltes/
Lunch at Gasthause Zur krone-
An inn and restaurant producing local cuisine using fresh ingredients from nearby purveyors.
We wanted to be able to sit down in between tastings together on this day to enjoy some of the local cuisine while also sharing some bottles of different producers. This lunch is going to be very good. https://gasthauskrone.de/
Finish the day with a tasting at Weingut Furst Lowenstein. During my research, I emailed and spoke with a lot of producers. I was trying to find estates with great wine, history, and farming. Weingut Furst Lowenstein had initially not been on my list, but after many of the winemakers I spoke to mentioned them, I decided a little research was needed. Needless to say, I found this estate to be both charming and historically very significant. I have added a link below to review the estate website at your leisure. I am especially excited about the vineyards at this estate as they date back 2000 years, and 400 of those years were farmed by the current family. This day is going to be all about wine and local knowledge.https://loewenstein-wein.de/
